Did you know, more than 20% of our neighbors are adults aged 60 or older? That’s almost half a million people! Changing conditions are holding older adults back from engaging in everyday activities that help them stay connected to their friends, family and the community.
While social services like home-delivered meals and wellness support play an important role in providing connections to older adults who may not have outside friends or families, by uniting together, we can all be part of the solution.
Â
United Way of Greater Cincinnati has partnered with over 17 diverse community organizations to distribute Notes of Encouragement to local seniors who are experiencing loneliness and isolation. So far, nearly 900 volunteers have created notes for nearly 20,000 older adults across the Greater Cincinnati region. You can help by pledging to write notes today. This is an ongoing need; we will continue to collect notes throughout the year!
This is a perfect opportunity to get kids involved in volunteering in our community this summer! It's also ideal for families, youth and athletic groups, summer camp activities...even corporate groups, as well.
It's easy! Just click the button below (it will open in a new window), fill out the form and that's it!

Once you’ve let us know how many notes you plan to write, please follow these guidelines for creating your notes: United4Neighbors: Notes of Encouragement Guidelines (.PDF).
