SUCCESS BY 6® PARTNERS WITH IPM TO SUPPORT FAMILIES

The Eastern Area office of United Way of Greater Cincinnati is working with Inter Parish Ministry (IPM) Food Pantry on projects to support families. IPM, with locations in Newtown and Amelia, provides food, clothing, emergency aid and other assistance to people in need.

Through August, United Way’s Success By 6® is partnering with IPM to provide 500 Family Fun Bags to caregivers with children up to age 6. The bags include activities, resources, crafts and community information.

Each month, bags have a different theme. June’s theme: sensory. Items include a laminated scavenger hunt sheet and dry-erase marker; washable markers; card stock; and directions for creating leaf-stamping art. July’s theme is literacy. Bags will include a “words all around us” activity; an “I Spy” book; and a magnifying glass for a word-search activity. In August, the theme is social and emotional. Bags will include “Be Kind” books as well as supplies for creating “kindness rocks,” which involves painting inspirational messages on stones.

In addition, the Eastern Area will work with IPM and four local schools to provide families with food via mobile pantries. Those events will happen throughout the summer.

PICNIC PUTS SPOTLIGHT ON EARLY CHILDHOOD SERVICES

The Clermont County Early Childhood Collaborative, led by Success By 6®, on June 2 hosted a Play, Learn and Grow picnic at Burke Park in Bethel.

The event, held in partnership with Bethel-Tate Local Schools, highlighted community partners that offer early childhood programs and services. Parents had a chance to connect with such partners and take part in preschool and kindergarten registration. The picnic featured craft activities, a tasting station, games, and sack lunches for children.

A similar event is planned for July, in partnership with Clermont Northeastern Schools.
