ABOUT UNITED WAY OF GREATER CINCINNATI

United Way of Greater Cincinnati is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to providing both immediate relief and long-term solutions to the most pressing issues our community faces.

We are so much more than a fundraiser. We are passionate advocates, dedicated to driving lasting impact through targeted community investments, policy and direct services. By embedding ourselves in the community, listening and gathering data, we ensure the challenges families face today aren’t holding back the generations of tomorrow.

OUR MISSION

We empower everyone in our region to achieve economic well-being so our entire community can thrive — now and in the future.

OUR COMMUNITY IMPACT WORK FOCUSES ON 3 PILLARS OF FAMILY ECONOMIC WELL-BEING

Educational Success

We’re ensuring every child and young adult has the resources and support necessary to excel in school and life.

Financial Empowerment

We’re equipping people with the tools and support needed to advance in their path to prosperity, achieving economic stability and independence.

Housing Security

We’re helping families stay in their homes, avoiding eviction and foreclosure, while also providing solutions for long-term stable housing and homeownership.

DIVERSITY, EQUITY & INCLUSION

Equity is at the heart of our mission. Much of the work we do in our hallmark impact areas — education and youth success, financial empowerment, housing security, and basic needs — is grounded in advancing equity. We recognize that Black people and other people of color are disproportionately affected in these areas because of historic racism. Systemic racism continues to erode the foundations of well-being for communities of color by denying access to opportunity and making it more difficult to secure jobs, housing, healthcare, education, nutrition and equal treatment under the law.

United Way of Greater Cincinnati unequivocally denounces racism and ethnic discrimination.

We are committed to the values of diversity, equity and inclusion. We will intentionally and deliberately promote equity in our organization, programming, policies, practices and funding decisions. We will advocate for public policies that foster equity in our community and across our nation.
