To celebrate the fifth anniversary of Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library of Clermont County, about 75 people gathered April 29 to watch “The Library That Dolly Built.” The feature-length documentary shares the story of Dolly Parton and the profound impact her Imagination Library has made on childhood literacy in Clermont County and across the world.
A big thanks to all who attended the event at RJ Cinema in Clermont County’s Union Township. The theater was filled with laughter, tears and admiration — not just for Dolly, but for the dedicated volunteers, librarians, parents and generous supporters who make the program possible.
The event included a dress-like-Dolly contest, a photo booth with a life-sized Dolly cutout and information about the new Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library specialty license plate.

The Imagination Library provides a free, age-appropriate book each month to children up to age 5. As local program partners, the Clermont County Public Library and United Way of Greater Cincinnati aim to give every child the advantage of having books and reading opportunities at home. In the last five years, we have mailed more than 337,000 books to Clermont County children.
It’s not too late to help “Fill the Shelf” for kids in our community by sponsoring a child to receive free books all year for just $30 at uwgc.org/imagination.
