Strengthening the Next Generation for a Brighter Future
Led by United Way of Greater Cincinnati, Amplify brings our region together to strengthen the family and community supports that help children succeed, from early childhood through entry into the workforce.
Your gift helps build the partnerships and coordinated support that make lasting progress possible.
A child’s ability to succeed is shaped by everything around them, inside and outside the classroom. Stable housing, nutritious food, reliable transportation and access to child care all help create the conditions for learning and growth.
Amplify connects neighbors, schools, businesses and community organizations around shared goals and coordinated action. Together, we build on neighborhood strengths, use data to guide decisions and expand what works so more children and families can thrive.
Our work centers on five milestones:
Kindergarten readiness
Third grade
reading
Eighth grade
math
High school
graduation
Entry into
the workforce
United Way serves as Amplify’s backbone organization: bringing partners together, coordinating their work and tracking progress toward shared goals. With more than 110 years of experience working alongside Greater Cincinnati communities, we bring the relationships and dedicated support needed to sustain this collective effort.
The Ohio Department of Education and Workforce has designated United Way of Greater Cincinnati as Southwest Ohio’s Regional Education Partnership. Through Amplify, we bring partners together to advance this work locally, strengthening connections between early learning, education and the workforce.
Amplify is focusing initial efforts in a few neighborhoods to concentrate resources and shape priorities. As we learn what works, we will expand efforts into additional communities.
Working groups are already turning shared goals into action. United Way’s Success By 6® is leading Amplify’s kindergarten readiness work, building on its commitment to helping young children start school ready to learn.
Guided by the national StriveTogether framework, Amplify also draws on tools, coaching and lessons from communities across the country.
