Changemakers Award

United Way's Greater Cincinnati Changemakers Awards recognize organizations and corporate groups who volunteer in our community.

Thousands of people in our community work to make the lives of their neighbors better. Whether they’re collecting and assembling backpacks and literacy kits, helping to clear vacant lots or writing notes of encouragement, those efforts add up and the positive energy ripples throughout our community.

This year we honor five organizations for their volunteer power and the positive impact they've made in our community: four companies with the highest per-capita volunteer hours, and one Grassroots nonprofit.

  • Ingage Partners (10-99 employees)
  • Michelman (100-249 employees)
  • EY (250-749 employees)
  • PNC (750+ employees)
  • BLOC Ministries (Grassroots Nonprofit Category)

2023 Participation Criteria:

  • Record volunteer projects and volunteer hours between Jan. 1 and Sept. 1, 2023 (feel free to record retroactive hours), with the following criteria:
    • Volunteer hours must be completed in the Greater Cincinnati region.
    • Volunteer time is defined as: hours an individual dedicates to a legitimate 501(c)(3) through the encouragement and facilitation of his/her employer.
  • Answer a few questions regarding the impact your organization’s volunteer efforts created in the community.
  • Submit application by Sept. 1, 2023 [APPLICATIONS ARE NOW CLOSED]. Winners will be formally recognized during the UWGC annual United Way Celebrate event on December 7, 2023.
  • For Grassroots organizations: This year, we invite United Way of Greater Cincinnati staff members to nominate organizations in this category using internal criteria.

The winner in this award category will be notified by United Way.
