Advocates Convene at Indiana and Kentucky Statehouses

The United Way of Greater Cincinnati (UWGC) policy team recently participated in Live United Days in Indiana and Kentucky.

United Ways from across Indiana gathered Jan. 30 at the state Capitol in Indianapolis to meet with legislators and share insights from their respective communities. UWGC team members and several community members met with state Sen. Randy Maxwell to discuss housing policies impacting Hoosiers in Dearborn and Ohio counties.

On Feb. 12, United Ways from across Kentucky convened at the state Capitol in Frankfort to share important perspectives with legislators. UWGC employees and several community advocates who are passionate about child care and early education met with nearly 10 legislators to discuss policies impacting children, families and classrooms. When not meeting with legislators, participants listened to remarks from Gov. Andy Beshear, sat in on panel discussions focused on workforce and housing, or networked with other advocates from around the state.

Live United Days are vital to UWGC’s advocacy work, and we thank everyone who was able to participate this year. Looking to get involved in future advocacy events? Sign up to receive our advocacy emails here.
