AURORA, Ind. (Dec. 8, 2025) – United Way of Greater Cincinnati, the city of Aurora and Main Street Aurora are hosting a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 12:15 p.m. on Dec. 13 to commemorate a new mural. The artwork is at the corner of Main and Second streets and depicts life in and around Aurora and Southeastern Indiana.
Local artist Christian Dallas and his team started on the project in September. Dallas’ design is meant to capture the area’s sense of community and neighborliness. It features local flowers, buildings and images of neighbors helping neighbors.
“We are proud to help bring this mural to life because it reflects what makes Southeast Indiana so special — neighbors showing up for one another,” said Moira Weir, President and CEO of United Way of Greater Cincinnati. “When we invest in community connections and collective action, we strengthen every family and every place in our region.”
“Main Street Aurora partnering with United Way of Greater Cincinnati on the Main Street mural project synchronizes each organization’s mission and vision and transformation strategy,” said Nancy Turner, Director, Main Street Aurora. “We’re focused on being family-friendly, family-serving, the economy and the arts, so this is a way to align the missions of both nonprofit organizations.”
