Fighting for Every Person in Our Community

United Way of Greater Cincinnati fights for the education, financial stability and health for everyone in our community. Our aspiration is for all people in our region to reach their full potential. However, this cannot happen without our generous community coming together and lending their support.

We kicked off our 2016 community campaign on August 24 with a goal of raising $62.1 million. With just over five weeks remaining, we’ve made great progress but there is still much work to be done. Together we can be a part of the single largest community engagement effort in our region that will help us achieve great improvements in people’s lives, and begin to move children and their families out of poverty and toward self-sufficiency.

Cheryl Rose, senior vice president, Hawthorn PNC Family Wealth, believes that supporting United Way is critical for the economic development for our region.

“United Way’s work to expand access to quality preschool will lead to more and better jobs, which leads to higher earnings for the community at large,” said Rose. “United Way has exhibited courage by making bold moves that will deliver on our Bold Goal of preparing kids for kindergarten.”

cheryl_rose_112012Rose is an incredibly active United Way volunteer, currently serving on the Regional Steering Committee for United Way Success By 6 ® and as a member of United Way’s Tocqueville Society and Women of Tocqueville. She was formerly the WINGs (Women Investing in the Next Generation) Ambassador Vice Chair.

“From the establishment of Success By 6 many years ago, to WINGs adopting the mission of early childhood education, to advocacy efforts, to the role United Way will play in delivering expanded quality preschool through community providers, United Way has brought our community together to develop a collaborative solution to make it happen. As a business leader and former single mother living in poverty, this is the best possible investment we can make. Thank you United Way for paving the path towards a strong future!”

We would also like to give special recognition to our campaign chair Ted Torbeck and his employees at Cincinnati Bell for a tremendous campaign. Their campaign has raised $1,758,000 to date and is still going. This is a 105% increase over their 2015 campaign which raised $859,158. Thank you Cincinnati Bell for your tremendous support!
