Dear friends,
Never was it more important to Live United than in 2020. Here in Greater Cincinnati, we found United was the way to help our community.
Throughout the turmoil and uncertainty, United Way of Greater Cincinnati – with your support – led our area’s response to the pandemic. Consider the impact:
We helped raise and distribute $7.2 million in aid to more than 250 nonprofits within the first two months of the pandemic.
We delivered $160,000 in gift cards to more than 4,000 individuals and families immediately impacted by pandemic-related hardships.
We distributed more than 1.6 million masks and 28,000 bottles of sanitizer.
We distributed more than $600,000 in Black Empowerment Works grants at a time when our nation and community struggled with issues of equity.
We distributed nearly $1 million in direct aid and rent relief.
We partnered to bring digital equity into more than 1,200 Northern Kentucky homes, helping more than 2,600 children learn remotely.
We helped 8,000 people avoid more than $2 million in tax filing fees while collecting more than $12 million in refunds at a time when every dollar was crucial.
We supplied 207 health kits and 328 food kits to those in quarantine, as well as distributed hundreds of thousands of Hamilton County CARES dollars throughout our community.
We brought more than 15,000 books to Clermont County’s preschoolers so they could still learn and have fun during isolation.
We delivered more than 15,000 Notes of Encouragement to isolated seniors throughout Greater Cincinnati.
We handled more than 40,000 requests for housing, food, rent and other assistance through the United Way 211 helpline.
I used “we” in every result above because this does not happen without you.
2021 is going to be a challenging year. Let’s continue to Live United.
Sincerely,
Moira Weir
