COVID-19 has brought out the best of many of us. Some donate PPE to a child care center. Others deliver meals to those with disabilities, or write notes of encouragement to isolated seniors. People throughout Greater Cincinnati are living UNITED every day.
Here’s one more way you can help: our region needs thousands of volunteer poll workers on election day, November 3, 2020. Counties always struggle to recruit workers to run free and fair elections, but it is especially a problem during the pandemic. That means long lines at the polls.
Boards of Election offer training and a promise of volunteering in a safe, hygienic, social-distancing manner. Poll workers perform vital duties, handing out ballots, assisting voters with disabilities, checking in voters, and reviewing IDs where required.
Poll work is not partisan. Each volunteer’s job is simply to make sure everyone has an opportunity to vote.
