Dear United Way friends,
As COVID-19 cases spike throughout our region, mask wearing is taking center stage. The city of Cincinnati mandated mask wearing on Friday.
United Way of Greater Cincinnati, with the help of Procter & Gamble, will eventually distribute 1 million masks to members of our community. We are working closely with our partner agencies, grassroots organizations, faith-based organizations and others to ensure masks (and sanitizer) go to those most in need. We know the Black community and other marginalized communities are disproportionately affected by COVID-19; they are our main focus.
The Regional COVID Communications Center, thanks to the support of P&G and the state of Ohio, is launching a Masks On campaign. Our efforts to reach marginalized communities support this campaign. The virus can spread between people who are close to each other when speaking, even if they aren’t showing coronavirus symptoms. No one wants to accidentally spread the virus to someone who might have severe complications if they catch it.
Join us in this life-saving effort. #MasksOn!

P.S. We have also partnered with over 17 diverse community organizations to provide 15,000 notes of encouragement to local seniors. Set a goal, write your notes, and mail or deliver them by July 10. Learn more.
