Across our region, a lack of reliable, safe, and convenient transportation hinders people’s ability to get jobs, access healthcare, food, and more. On Giving Tuesday, United Way of Greater Cincinnati launched RideUnited to raise funds and awareness around the lack of reliable transportation in our region.
RideUnited is a transportation access initiative, presented locally by TriHealth, leveraging the strengths of the United Way 211 network to address unmet critical transportation needs. Beginning in 2020, our United Way 211 help line will schedule and dispatch limited free Lyft rides to people with specific healthcare, employment and food accessibility needs.
In addition to launching RideUnited, we celebrated Giving Tuesday at Taft’s Brewpourium, where volunteers assembled more than 200 Family Assistance kits that will provide basic needs items to those who need it most. View Photos.
Do you still want to go the extra mile? You can still help us fund RideUnited. When you give a ride ($15), you help a family get to a doctor, a free food pantry, or a job interview. Donate online or text RIDEUNITED to 71777.
