Meet Our New Chief Development Officer

United Way of Greater Cincinnati has named Holly End as its new senior vice president / chief development officer. She will fill a strategic role for the organization as a member of the executive leadership team and will lead the fundraising efforts for one of the top ten United Ways in the U.S.

The appointment is effective November 19 and follows an extensive search involving dozens of applicants and several rounds of interviews. End fills the position recently vacated by Chris Martin, who departed the organization in September after 23 years leading the development department for a post as the president and CEO of United Way of San Antonio.

“We are excited to have someone with Holly’s strong fundraising background, passion for our work and love of our region joining us,” said Michael Johnson, president and CEO of United Way of Greater Cincinnati. “Holly brings to the position nearly two decades of fundraising experience, and I know she will be a transformative leader and great addition to the United Way team.”

End most recently led as Director of Development at St. Vincent de Paul where she oversaw the development department, managed a portfolio of nearly 100 major donors and prospects, and helped raise $9 million toward a comprehensive capital campaign. Prior to joining St. Vincent de Paul, Holly was Development Director at Cooperative for Education for over a decade, where she developed and implemented the organization’s overall fundraising strategy and more than tripled its fundraising revenue.

“I am thrilled to join United Way of Greater Cincinnati, a community thought-leader and the organization best positioned to reduce regional poverty and improve local lives,” End said.

End has been a speaker both locally and nationally on fundraising and service, including presenting at the St. Vincent de Paul National Assembly in 2018 and in 2013 at TEDx Xavier University. She served as the Annual Fund Chair for Nativity Parish from 2016-18. She is a freelance writer for Soapbox Media and LISC and has been the leader of her daughter's Girl Scouts Troup since 2014

End holds a bachelor of arts from Xavier University and has completed nonprofit leadership & management courses at the University of Missouri-St. Louis.  She lives in Pleasant Ridge with her husband, Christian, and their children, Zachary (13) and Cecilia (10).
