United Way Adds New Leaders To Its Boards

More than one dozen new business and community leaders are giving their time, talent and passion to United Way of Greater Cincinnati by joining the nonprofit’s Board of Directors and the United Way Foundation Board of Directors.

The new additions were recently approved by the full board, which is led by Board Chair Julia W. Poston, Office Managing Partner, EY. Many of the new members will serve in the volunteer role for the next three years.

“Board service is an excellent way to give back to the community,” said Michael Johnson, president and CEO, United Way of Greater Cincinnati. “Our volunteer leaders come from all walks of life from across our region, and are an instrumental part of the work we do every day. Our region is better thanks to their leadership.”

United Way’s board develops strategic direction, sets policies and ensures capable staffing. Board members sit on oversight committees and oversee all aspects of the organization’s operation including, human resources, fundraising, marketing, community impact, accountability and services. United Way’s staff teams work together with the board and dozens of other leaders and volunteers to unite communities to change lives across the region.

New members of United Way’s Board of Directors include:

United Way’s Foundation manages the organization’s endowments and planned giving strategies which allow supporters to create long-lasting impact in the community. The Foundation was created in 1983 and has assets over $40 million and expectancies over $27 million. New members of United Way’s Foundation Board of Directors include:
