New Year, New Milestone in Annual United Way Fundraising Campaign

Dozens of donors raised their commitments to the annual campaign in the final days of 2019 to take contributions to the $50 million mark, reversing a three-year decline and ensuring full funding for all initiatives and agencies.

Giving Tuesday Recap

On Giving Tuesday, United Way of Greater Cincinnati launched RideUnited to raise funds and awareness around the lack of reliable transportation in our region. RideUnited, presented locally by TriHealth, leverages the strengths of the United Way 211 network to address unmet critical transportation needs. In addition to launching RideUnited, we celebrated Giving Tuesday at Taft’s Brewpourium, where volunteers assembled more than 200 Family Assistance kits.

United Way Announces Campaign Milestone

In November United Way of Greater Cincinnati announced a major milestone in its annual community fundraising campaign. “Thanks to the generosity of the community, we will maintain funding for all agencies and initiatives and there will be no further cuts in services,” said Archie Brown, CEO of First Financial Bank and Chair of this year’s annual United Way campaign.

United Way Agency Partners

In October when we discovered that we would hit a campaign shortfall we notified our partner agencies that they should expect reductions in allocations, up to 20 percent. All of our 130+ agency partners were sent a letter today confirming their decreased allocation numbers. As routine we post these allocation numbers here for community transparency.

Recognizing Our Supporters

At a special event for our supporters Wednesday, Nov. 14, we recognized our good, giving community. The event served as a huge milestone for the 2018 community campaign. Interim CEO Ross Meyer announced our campaign so far is projected to raise $50.3 million. Companies and organizations were also recognized for their outstanding efforts.
