Building a strong community where all people can thrive depends on your generous support.

In an uncertain year, one thing remained certain: plenty of good happening in the Northern Kentucky community!
April 23, 2021
  • In December, United Way’s Northern Kentucky Area Center recognized 13 individuals for continued acts of “doing good” within their communities. Throughout the year, the Area Center recognizes a local resident each month for going above and beyond in their community. • 2020 also brought a tremendous partnership between the Northern Kentucky Area Center, Cincinnati Bell and other community partners to launch the Digital Equity Project. This project provides home internet connections to Northern Kentucky students studying remotely because of the pandemic. To date, United Way has partnered with 16 districts and connected 1,121 homes, impacting more than 2,300 students across Northern Kentucky! This wouldn’t have been possible without the support of Horizon Community Fund, Greater Cincinnati Foundation, RC Durr Foundation, The Butler Foundation, Atkins & Pearce, Inc., Perfetti van Melle, St. Elizabeth Healthcare, Kroger, the Cincinnati Bengals, and Cincinnati Bell.
  • Mini grants recently were awarded to school districts and child care centers in the Northern Kentucky priority communities of Erlanger, Elsmere, Florence, Newport, and Covington. The mini grants support innovative kindergarten transition solutions, accelerate activities, and meet the changing needs of child care centers due to the pandemic. Each community could request up to $10,000 to fund one large activity or multiple smaller needs.
