The book has been closed on 2017, and we at United Way of Greater Cincinnati would like to thank you for all you did to help improve our community over the past year. In 2017, United Way engaged 3,581 new volunteers, and the total number of hours logged by our volunteers was 86,486 hours. As we turn the page to 2018, we hope to see those numbers increase even more.
To do that, one of our New Year's Resolutions is to share volunteer opportunities with you via social media every week! Each Thursday of 2018 our social media accounts will feature #VolunteersUnited, which will include a different volunteer opportunity from United Way or one of our agency partners – 52 opportunities in total. If you have not solidified your 2018 resolutions yet, we suggest adding volunteering to your list!
We could go on all day about why you should volunteer, but here are five simple reasons to give it a try:
Develop new skills
Help address a cause you’re passionate about
Meet new people
Connect with your community
Expand your horizons
Together, with hand raisers just like you, we’re creating a community where everyone has an opportunity to thrive. If you are ready to join us as we work to address poverty in our region, there are a variety of ways for people of all ages and skill levels to help.
We’re making it easy – just check our Facebook,Twitter or LinkedIn pages every Thursday morning for a new opportunity!
If you would like to learn about additional opportunities, be sure to check our volunteer portal at CincyHelps.org. We are always adding new content, and you can even sign up to be notified when there are opportunities that match your interests.
Are you ready, Greater Cincinnati? 2018 will be OUR year – let’s do this!
