2012 - 2013 Public Policy Priorities

EDUCATION  

Priority #1.      By 2020 at least 85% of children will be prepared for Kindergarten

Legislative Leadership means UWGC will assume a leadership role before administrative and legislative branches of government and the human services sector, proactively lobbying and bringing visibility and voice to our issues.  We will devote significant resources to research, policy development, grassroots organization, and advocacy on these issues.

INCOME

Priority #2.      Families and individuals achieve sustained employment

Legislative Advocacy means that UWGC will proactively develop positions, lobby, and generate grassroots support on an as-needed basis

 

EDUCATION

Priority #3.      By 2020 at least 85% of youth will graduate from high school (prepared for life, college and career)

Legislative Support issues are ones UWGC will monitor and respond to requests for support through such vehicles as sign-on letters and other ways that are not labor or resource intensive.
