An endowment is a collection of monetary gifts that are deposited into a fund where they remain forever. It can be established by outright gifts or planned gifts, such as a bequest. The gifts are invested, and a portion of the income earned from these investments is provided each year for human services. The original gifts in the fund-called the principal-remain untouched, generating income that will forever improve lives and strengthen our community.
A bequest is the simplest and most common form of planned giving. It's easy to include United Way of Greater Cincinnati in your will. By doing so, you make an investment in our region's greatest assets-its people. No matter the amount, you can trust that your legacy will generate measurable, long-lasting results.

By making a bequest to United Way, you become a Legacy Leader - along with over 200 caring, community leaders who have extended their compassion by investing in our community's human care network. Legacy Leaders members will be recognized in a variety of marketing efforts and invited to periodic recognition events and activities. Should you choose to remain anonymous, your desires will be respected. Click here to see list of United Way Foundation Legacy Leaders.
Memorial and honorarium gifts provide the opportunity to pay tribute to loved ones and friends, as well as make an investment in our future.
